Le Fou - Christopher Michael Tew

“The dancer is Pierre-Claver Belleka, aka Dexter, a Liberian living in Senegal specializing in ‘krump,’” says director Christopher Michael Tew of the protagonist in Le Fou (The Crazy), a short film using street dancers to tell the story of orphaned child gangs in Dakar. “I wanted to portray the intensity that these children live through with the fierce and angry nature of krumping, whilst showcasing the vibrancy of Dakar, the most westerly African peninsular.”
